The Death of DVD
A landmark decision was made today that will send the DVD industry crashing further into the depths of hell (it's already in purgatory). It's called 'Remote DVR', and it will essentially do what Itunes did to CD's, except you can store your recorded content on an outside server, meaning you don't need a tivo or dvr box, but just the subscription. While it's pretty revolutionary and great for the consumer, it's another terrible blow for the programming community. Check out the article in Variety to get a better grasp of the dynamics.
