Felt the need to share this new little delicious eatery in my neighborhood..



Muma off Melrose/Poinsettia recently took over the square feet from a waffle desert place that never caught on. This little Mediterranean gem is the go-to spot when you're hungry on a budget. There's the chicken shawarma pita I usually get..



And some homemade sweet potato fries..



The real clincher is their open salad bar, to customize your pita experience. Everything is really fresh, don't sleep on the cilantro sauce!



And the ribbon that ties the entire meal together..



Counter all the garlic-ness with a chocolate & coconut cookie..



Try for yourself, it's the catty corner from another good neighborhood spot, The Dark Room. Knowledge brings smiles.

Melrose Movement

Earlier today, took a bike ride down Melrose to chat with Aaron Levant, mastermind behind the Agenda Trade Show (which has recently moved from San Diego to Huntington Beach) and co-owner of the DCMA clothing line, made famous by the Good Charlotte brothers..

Then stopped by Stir Crazy for another meeting where I ran into a few locals you should know, Brett Williams and Melrose Larry..



A day isn't complete without bumping into Melrose Larry. Next time you see him waving maniacally to cars while driving on Melrose, please, wave back.

Melrose in Despair

Took a leisurely stroll down Melrose West and noticed a new trend - "Out of Business" signs. I counted about 39 total between La Brea and Fairfax, give or take. For some good shops like Kendo and Workmen's, it's sad. For others like "Avi's Biker Fashion", it could be a blessing. Either way, here's some of the proof...

But people often fail to notice who the real victims of this recession. It's this poor little orphaned palm tree. Somebody please, find the golden inside of your heart. Unroot and adopt him..



Let's get this economy moving and not let the media further perpetuate this recession. Make it rain!

Everybody wears fedoras, but where are they getting them from? Hopefully not Urban Outfitters! I personally go to Hollywood Hatters on Melrose/Orange. Great selection, all types/sizes ranging from $20 - $200..
